How to jailbreak all iDevices (except for iPad 2) on 4.3.1 untethered

After quite a bit of wait time, redsn0w 0.9.6 was finally released to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 untethered. Many people have been anxiously waiting for this update to be released. This is a step by step guide on how to jailbreak your iPod/iPhone/iPad 1 on the 4.3.1 firmware untethered.

Step 1: Download redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 from one of the links below...

Download: redsn0w Mac OS X

Download: redsn0w Windows

Step 2: Download the 4.3.1 firmware for your respected device...

Step 3: After both downloads are finished, open the redsn0w application.

Step 4: After the program is opened, your going to need to click on browse and select the 4.3.1 firmware you downloaded for your respected device.

Step 5: When it finishes processing the firmware click next and wait for it to do its thing

Step 6: If you want to enable custom animated boot logos check "Allow boot animation". Make sure "Install Cydia is checked and then click next.

Step 7: Make sure your device is off and plugged into the computer and then click next. Note: As soon as you click next, redsn0w will begin to guide you through the process of putting your device into DFU mode. Follow the on-screen instructions and let it do its thing.

After this your done! Just let redsn0w take care of the rest. When your iDevice reboots you should see the Cydia icon on your springboard. This means the jailbreak went okay and your device was successfully jailbroken!
